QUALCOMM annual meeting was well done.I asked Irwin Jacobs CEO if QUALCOMM had IPR protection on essential core CDMA in the proposed WCDMA being pushed by DDO of Japan and Europe standards committee.He said QUALCOMM did have IPR on WCDMA.In addition he said CDMA/GSM overlay results(VODAPHONE/QUALCOMM Project) are very compelling and would be presented soon.He held up the 800MMHZ Q Phone which had a completely internal antenna and said it was in the testing stage and would be launched in April.He was very gracious and presented with tremendous optimism.Thi morning there was a headline in the local paper that Dr.Jacobs contributed 15 million to UCSD school of Engineering (His own money).He felt Korea would be a temporary situation and he had alot of confidence that working with the Korean customers they would see this rough period resolve.
