This isn't a short-squeeze, it's a flight to quality. With the indexes so high and the uncertainty regarding Asia, Zippergate etc. people are protecting themselves by buying a stock that is solid, doesn't have any Asian exposure and has proven itself a veritable haven for those seeking shelter from the volatility and uncertainty of the rest of the market. I'm think I'm going to put my grandma retirement in this this, you know, just to be on the safe side.

<<Personally, I think there's more to it. I think some of these buyers actually think
they're "getting a deal." So far they're laughing all the way to the bank.>>

Only if they are wise enough to sell it before it cracks.
Of course, I might crack before they do !!!

Personally, I think it is very irresponsible of the brokerage houses to be making such dramatic changes to their target prices, and their ratings, on the of or the day before earnings are released. There's a lot more information forthcoming in the next day, so why not wait until all the news is released?

My only guess is someone had to be first (to claim that), and everyone else played follow the leader. Just my opinion.

>>If Cramer's right, and this run up is primarily a short squeeze, then this thing should come down very,
very hard. We'll see if he's right.<<

NO doubt there was short squeezing, but remember there are still many shorts that may chicken out, thus creating a new one; and also, the new president, some people may think he is David Cooperfield (sp?). There is no doubt there will be a significant correction; however these usually happen when least expected so even though I wish it, I doubt it will happen right away (i.e., this week). IMO what increases the probability of this happening relatively soon (less than three months I hope) is the incredibly crazy market conditions we are currently facing.
