My intraday high of the dow is 8340.14 on 7 August 97.
The highest close was 8259.31 on 6 August 97.

I had to back to a chart of the DOW by months all the way back to 1983 just to get a perspective on the chart.Still didn't make sense!Man, it's a long way down from here...The chart looks like a ride over at Magic Mountain north of L.A. They have a set of rails that a rocket car shoots down the track on and then goes straight up in the air.It's scary to look at and even scarier to ride! The tracks end up about 500'(hard to tell cause it's a long way up!) and when the car gets there you're staring at a Superman that's fastened to the end of the tracks...there's about a 1/10 sec. hesitation then the car falls straight down and all the way back to the start.I'd guess you're doing over 100 mph both ways and the ride takes about 15 seconds from start to finish. Well, that's what the DOW chart looks like...
