I remember that. Perfect example of an untrained mind and how we pretty much all were 200 years ago.

The countries that have learned to learn, like many Asian countries, Nordic countries, etc, are doing the best in the world.

South Korea was a economic third world basket case dictatorship 60 years ago, and today it is the 11th largest economy on earth and one of the strongest democracies and they did it through their warrior like attention to education.

There is a great book called:" The birth of Korean Cool" and she points out that on the one hand their educational culture is brutal, but on the other hand their great achievements are because of it.

Taiwan the same way, and Singapore.

I do not approve of tiger mom's, because it destroys children, and the same thing can be achieved by taking it slower, but steady.

My kids, and most of my clan, always have a book going. It is part of our tradition.
