We need to conserve. I ripped out my lawn and planted all drought resistant foliage 35 years ago. My water usage is about 15% of a comparable home, and about 2% of what people in Del Mar and Rancho Santa Fe use. My carbon footprint is similar. This idea that we can technology our way out is, IMO, false. I don't suffer at all. I slow down when I'm not in a hurry... which is pretty much never because I don't give a shit if I'm a couple of minutes late.
