Isn't that what he does with every topic that doesn't suit his cult belief system?

If you address the problem broadly you find a snarled mess. It's a huge issue with myriad facets that can only be tamed with massive, rigorous analysis. That's not gonna happen here. I occasionally pick particular narrow questions with easy borders because they are manageable. It's not so easy to change the subject or wander off on a rant although obviously not impossible for him. And it's easy to prove beyond the reasonable doubt of any reasonably smart person that he's all wet.

Still, he sloughs them off as he probably will this one. But if the light bulb is to ever going to go off in his head, it will be on small, provable questions that cannot be denied by any smart person.

Not that I have any expectation that light bulbs even exist in his dimension. He has affirmatively identified as a dead-ender. I expect that he is committed to that at all costs. But I find exercise healthy.

Hence the futility of trying to "reason" with it

It's utterly futile to post that Trump is not a deity but a disaster. It's just too big. And it effectively manifests as just more trash talk. It's probably also futile to argue a narrow question. But maybe not utterly futile.
And one can at least approximate arguments, wherein lies the exercise.
