You are asking the wrong person, dude. My guess is that you need memory for your PDA because you turn your PDA off sometimes without going straight to the PC.

FTR, I use a palmpilot for scheduling and don't even use it for addresses so I don't even bother transfering data to my PC.

Because you don't have all day. I can transfer 20MB of data from my desktop to a flash card and insert it in my palmtop for use - elapsed time about 10s. To do this by IR would take at least 15 minutes. Also flash memory is removable - I can carry my palmtop (8MB of internal memory) and three flash cards (20MB and 2 @ 15MB). By swapping out the cards I can instantly change to a new set of applications. If I only had an IR link I would need 48MB of internal memory in the palmtop and an extremely long time to transfer everything to it.
