McLuhan had a great influence on my early thinking. He said he was really sort of channeling James Joyce, who I could never understand; and he felt Finnegan's Wake was the most important book ever written.

As a lefty myself, even here where many see me as far left, if only they knew how much I have held back over the years to keep from upsetting people-lol. I see so much (right or wrong) more than I would ever dare post.

A good example would be a treatise I have never fully posted about the how the southern culture has had such a detrimental effect on our politics and culture as a whole :)<.

Or the moderates and Clintons power that did not allow the Democratic party to manifest its best thinkers, or groom the next generation of progressive politicians..

Most news is very moderate and not far left at all e.g. MSNBC, CNN, ABC, BBC, CBS, Politico, NYT, WAPO, etc.

Of course not. Consider the ownership. We've been saddled with the the librul medya crap since at least Spiro Agnew, who made "media" a singular term. That might be true in, say, North Korea, and unfortunately the terminology has penetrated as far as the NYT. Words have meaning, and people think of media as monolithic.
