I am sure I know more about the subject than Times reporters and you yourelf, Dan. If the guy was that good at finance, he would be in finance and not reporting. You bet your retirement dollars on the advice of reporters and see where it gets you. ESO's are much more complicated than you are making it.

As for the mumbo jumbo, is it is only because you don't understand it? Why don't you ask for clarification instead of insult?

Question:

Last year the CPAs pushed for a rule that would have required this kind of accounting. I understand the high tech companies sabotaged the effort, because many of them would go from showing a profit to showing a loss. Making the IRS unhappy, among others.

What is the current situation vis-a-vis new accounting rules? Are they dead for now?
