Solidly Dem districts have flipped by 30 points…

the floor for Republicans is a net gain of 20 seats (enough to boot Nancy from the speakership) with a ceiling of having a 256-179 majority in the House -- which would be the largest Republican majority since Calvin Coolidge was president.

Politico looked at those tossup districts.

Democrats are scared.

Wharfie,
I don't think anybody will be able to unite us for quite a while.
When you have real leadership along with real results that you can take credit for, unity will take care of itself.

Take the border crisis, for example. No real winners there, right? If we turn them all away, that would be too cruel and Trump-like.

But if we accepted them all (after filtering out the "bad hombres" as much as possible), we would import a lot of problems and make things much more difficult for the cities these refugees move to, no?

That's where Brenda could have shined, or at least shown some backbone. She could have chosen a direction and stuck to it. Either one way, the other way, or a combination. Then she could have monitored the results and the consequences, and took action based on what happened.

She didn't do any of that. She ran away crying about how tough the problem was. She played the race card and the gender card and claimed that a white man would never have been placed in such a "no-win situation."

Had she shown some leadership, she could have at least united the Democrats along with some left-leaning independents.

But nope. With regard to the border crisis, she's just as responsible for her inactions as Trump was for his actions.

"Whatever happens, you're responsible. If it doesn't happen, you're responsible." - Wharfie, quoting one of his favorite politicians
