What gives me discomfort is fixing a wrong in a symbolic way long after the damage is done and can't be undone. Why bother? Doesn't matter to Jim.

Along those lines, Chicago radio today, guy was let out of prison after twenty years, wrong guy. They interviewed him, he said he knew how to be a prisoner, would now need to learn how to be a man. Twenty years of anger.....said he was working hard at not letting that destroy his soul.

I used to know Jim Thorpe's story, didn't refresh my memory.

I'm sure Jim would be pleased to know....except he died. My guess, assuming he did recover and have a reasonable life, is that he had to work very hard at turning over and accepting. Way harder than those who stripped him of his metals way back then.

Edit: Responded to the wrong post. Oh well.
