Do this for me. Think of any item you buy on a regular basis, burger, drugs (legal or otherwise), bread, peanut butter, hamburgers, cigarettes, or whatever.

Now chart the price of that item over the course of decades (an imaginary chart).
Now, plot the stock price of that company.
Now, plot CEO pay.
Finally, plot wage increases.

The first three go up almost every year.
Wages seldom go up.

When wages go up, CEOs raise prices to get every penny back (plus more).

You won't deny this truth. We all know it.
