You probably have an air gap between the panels and the roof, right? That is definitely a plus. I suspect white is better than shiny tin - surprisingly. When we see specular reflection our brain sees them as more reflective. The test is to look at it with a thermal camera or even my "El Cheapo" meter - a meter says nothing is as cooler than engineered white coatings (even engineered films and mirrors) because they selectively re-radiate through a "window" of transmissibility in the atmosphere into the coldness of space. Snow is surprisingly good - it is a dielectric with tiny air bubbles which increase the probability that any random photon is sent back to somewhere on the hemisphere facing away from Earth.
