Someone help me understand..

This morning I wanted to buy TSCP. The bid was 10 3/4.
Put in my order to limit buy at 10 7/8.
Little bit later saw some trades a bid of 10 7/8. Ok so I got passed.
Most of the day, trades at ask of 11 1/8. Bid stays at 10 7/8
About 3:30pm, no action for the day. I cancelled my order.
The bid immediately dropped to 10 3/4.
Not to be outdone I put in another order limit at 11.
Bid changed to ll.
Stock trades at 11, but not my order.
Stock closes at 11.

Alright, what gives. I obviously was setting the bid, but kept getting no execution even though someone else was. Ideas?

A Question to Datek,

I have bought 100 shares of stock X in Jan. 1998, 200 shares of stock X in Feb. 1998. If I want to sell 100 shares of X I bought in Feb. 1998, what should I do to inform Datek broker?

Many Thanks!
