Any moron who would hold KO down and sideways for 10 years, might as well have held it for the next 10 years and be rich. Which is why that example is not realistic. A person holding a stock -- ANY stock -- for 10 years at a loss, is likely an extremely long-term investor (Buffet/Lynch style), and is probably still holding some of those shares today.
