Thanks for the reply John,

However, it depends on the broker... I just called my brokerage (National Discount) where my current IRA exists. I want to set up my ROTH there too. They said there was NO REASON to liquidate anything in my case. They did say that if I were trasferring to another BROKER, there may be a need to liquidate, but not in my case.

Thanks
Mitch

John,

I recently transferred all of my ORCL from a regular IRA to a new Roth without a hitch. In fact at Waterhouse they have a standard form on which you list the securities you'd like to transfer. The trick is to transfer all of your dogs while their value is low during 1998.

My 2c worth,
John
