I hate all these name changes and spinoffs... Mergers are often much easier if it allows you to follow one less company. GE will split into three.... I'll have to pick one and I'll probably follow the CEO...

It makes it really hard to keep track of what we paid for shares decades ago... for those of us who trade around core positions. It is a LOT of work to make these adjustments.

Alphabet is always Google to me

and

Meta is just a name Zuck picked for Facebook that he can change if he fails to make a new product that is quite different from what is a cash generator today.

At least Google kept its ticker symbols!
