It's a lot more than just DRAMs. They are the ones that caused the massive overcapacity in just about everything in sight, from DRAMs to cars to microwave. Anything that the semi equipment guys can't sell over the next two years into Korea is just phantom sales to build up more capacity that the world does not need. It's worse having a US industry held up by phantom sales - that just delays the day of judgement.

The bailout should not happen PERIOD.

The private sector can do a much better job in 'rescuing' Korean companies. That is, after the Korean stockholders and the international banks' stockholders take their hit for making unsound business decisions. That is just free market at work. Remember those trophy real estate sales to the Japanese a fewe years back? Now it's Korean's turn.

Anyway, just like to see how you can get a congressman's attention by doing a 10 page email vs a one sentance email.
