To each their own.

I respect your opinion..
I've been floating about the globe for maybe 3yrs now. Haven't watched a movie in a long time. But movies are great entertainment..
I like good acting & a good storyline.

As far as the 'guy' thing, I do not follow the 'John Wayne stuff ', but I'll kick back on what I'd say his best performance was,
"The Quiet Man". He was outstanding.

When TV available, I like the foreign programming. I always watch MHZ/ Netflix when doable. The thing about foreign programming
is that the acting is much better than 'what's acting' in the States. The storylines, original (from my foreign perspective), complimentary acting..
& no stupid closeup exaggerated facial expressions. & usually no commercials.
Turkey & S.Korea have great drama series. Most of Europe have great TV drama programs.
There are quite a few Chinese movies I like as I lived there before/ & during the covid & XiJinping shit.

When of computer want, I kickback to YouTube.. foreign films.

As far as 'movie familiarity' goes, in mid- Sept I revisit VietNam. I will visit Saigon & head along hwy1 towards TahNinh. It was
long ago Oct'67 when I spent 2wks in CuChi, some +54yrs ago.. the opening scene, same place & time, for Oliver Stone's 'Platoon'.
A flood of memories of 55yrs ago.. now from what I understand, Saigon suburbanized paved over.

T.V. &/or movies become a personal adventure. One's reality does dictate.
