Q & A

<< are you going to address my two questions? >>

Good afternoon golfer. To be blunt, the answer is no, not completely at least. I won't be answering anything other than occasional questions. This is not a chat board or a question and answer board and I'm not its answer guy. As you may have noticed in the boards introductory header "The board is still 'Under Construction.' It's existence has not yet been publicized but it is open for posting by SI members who discover it." Me? I'm neither an answer guy or a major contributor to Politics boards. I learn from others and about others instead.

I'm in the process of filtering and distilling 18 months of notes taken on the various Investigations and Hearings undertaken by Federal Agencies as a foundation and construct for this board. It's taking some time. Next up will be a few posts on the bipartisan Senate subcommittees' already concluded investigation and conclusions, followed by a few on the USCP's OIG investigation and recommendations as well as the ongoing House Select Committee Hearings. The board is intended to be a Facts First board. If you have some facts to contribute please do so.

You might want to start with facts related to whether or not our former president actually made any formal request as opposed to a suggestion for a National Guard presence. and btw, the U.S. Capitol is not controlled by Speaker Pelosi although the HSAA and SSAA reported to her and Speaker McConnell for functions inside Capitol buildings in addition to their responsibilities on the USCP Board where they reported upwards elsewhere on January 6, 2021. Neither Pelosi or McConnell had the authority to block the National Guard. However, since Trump was Commander in Chief of the DC National Guard he could have overruled Mayor Bowser directly without any DoD intermediaries.

Here are 2 takes, one from the left and one from the far right on what former President Trump has said on the subject.

1). “I requested … I definitely gave the number of 10,000 National Guardsmen, and [said] I think you should have 10,000 of the National Guard ready. They took that number. From what I understand, they gave it to the people at the Capitol, which is controlled by Pelosi. And I heard they rejected it because they didn’t think it would look good. So, you know, that was a big mistake.”

“2_. We [the Royal "We"] said to the Department of Defense, the top person, days before we had the rally … I requested … I definitely gave the number of 10,000 National Guardsmen, I think you should have 10,000 of the National Guard ready. They took that number. From what I understand, they gave it to the people at the Capitol, which is controlled by Pelosi. And I heard they rejected it because they didn’t think it would look good. All that said this recent MSNBC video briefly discusses Trump's "request" and what his Acting Secretary of Defense most recently testified to under oath to the House Select Committee:

Secretary Miller’s Testimony Debunks Lie Pushed by Trump, Fox News—And Miller

[Best viewed Full Screen]

Since Jan. 6, Trump and his allies have repeated the lie that the ex-president authorized the National Guard to defend the Capitol. But now, the 1/6 committee released definitive proof debunking this—with testimony from one of the very men spreading the lie on Fox News.

--> Bias Rating: LEFT | Factual Reporting: MIXED| MBFC Credibility Rating: MEDIUM CREDIBILITY
Overall, we rate MSNBC Left Biased based on story selection that consistently favors the establishment left. We also rate them Mixed for factual reporting due to news hosts and the website producing 3 pants on fire claims. (5/13/2016) Updated (M. Huitsing 03/23/2022) mediabiasfactcheck.com

Well, that turned out longer than anticipated. Chris Miller and Kash Patel, his Chief of staff have been all over the place with what they have had to say on the topic over the last 18 months. They are more slippery than credible.

From here on in please direct questions elsewhere or wait till contributors show up if they do. Maybe your "friend" can help you out with this.
