any engineers here know about SiGe materials and it's potential
to kill GaAs market? IBM just purchased a comm chip design
firm with an intent to try out SiGe. SiGe seems to offer
huge price savings over GaAs yet has GaAs-like performance.
any lurkers from TQNT, AHA, or VTSS know??

From Rockwell today...

"Parikh also suggested that Rockwell is in part responsible for the
difficulties a competitor, Anadigics Inc. (ANAD), is having selling its
wireless telephone components. "Someone is out there taking all of these
markets," he said.
On Jan. 29, Anadigics cited numerous factors, including increased
competition, for its weaker-than-expected fourth-quarter earnings.
Anadigics officials weren't available for comment."
