am guessing that there is a persistent 3-trillion-dollar / euro buyer for gold out there somewhere, wanting say 50,000 tonnes addition to perhaps already 15K - 30K hoarding, to make 80K even number.

What would happen should US Congress weaponise Gold and restrict its export from USA?

Guessing the Gold-scape would bifurcate, into weaponised and non-weaponised flavours, and smuggling shall ramp, and pricing of the two flavours would be arbitraged.
