*AV* -- Ordinarily it would not be a problem but for the person who ran off with #11,700 on this thread, I am not sure if permission should be granted<GGG>.

Only kidding, Post away, its a free world and it has to be better than talking about how poor we were growing up. All I can add to whatever has been said is my little slant to growing up.

1. Consider yourself lucky to have had a stove or oven. We heated our meals with a magnifying glass.
2. Macaroni and Cheese was a luxury to us. Most of the time it was just macaroni.
3. We were so poor we couldn't attract mice with the amount of crumbs we had.
4. HOWEVER, my Mom was and still is the BEST DAMN COOK in the world. She made Chuck steak taste like Filet Mignon. The Italians took lessons from her in the art of making Pasta and Sauces. People killed for her Lemon Merangue Pie and Cheesecake. Nobody cooks like my mommy.
She did have her faults though. Not matter how she prepared fish is tasted like fish (Gross!!!!)
