NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Shares in America Online may get a boost Wednesday, as investors react to stronger-than-expected earnings from the largest online service.

After the market closed Tuesday, AOL said it earned 17 cents per share on revenue of $592 million. Earnings, on a diluted basis, were 1 cent higher than analysts expected. Led by surging advertising and commerce revenue, sales increased 45 percent to $592 million -- about $20 million higher than projections.

The fiscal second-quarter results compare to a loss of $1.37 per share on revenue of $409.4 million in the same period last year<<

The beat goes on. I believe this will help YHOO in the short term since many people will believe there is no end to ad revenue. It will just go up, up, up.
