What we know:

CO2 is one of those somethings... 1856
The planet will heat up between 1.5-5 degrees C if CO2 doubles... 1896.

CO2 is going up, and it's fossil carbon, per isotope studies; it's gone up by 140ppm since the industrial age started.
Temps have gone up about 1.4 degrees C in the same period of time. We know it's not because of orbital and solar changes.
