Eric, First of all, as you insist, let's talk about how your guilty conscience leaves a trail of tell-tale signs all over your lengthy and Apple-advertising post of #47569. By the way, I really do not give a damn about how nice of a box a computer comes in!"I rather not litter this board with PowerPC discussion since people here are here because they are interested in INTC." You made a faulty claim and expected to walk away as if nothing has happened! In fact, you wished you had never made that faulty claim after all."I [Eric Yang] wasn't the one who made process feature size an issue in the first place." You did it and tried to deny it. Don't underestimate your conscience."What?! John..it's just an ad. Don't take it so literally. If you must know, I don't think the snail will crawl much faster without the load. But maybe you can run some sort of a benchmark. <g>" When I put myself as an average consumer interpreting at that Apple commercial, I pitied that poor snail for carrying that heavy of a load. To be fair, if I remove that heavy burden away from that poor snail, let's see if that Power PC of yours would run faster than that snail crawls. You then jumped all over me. Well, that showed me that deeply down in your conscience you really do not believe this PPC-750 can out-perform a P-II/333MHz! Remember "high benchmark" only lies in the eyes of the claimer!"The high-end machines [Mac's] based on PPC 750 will be out in a few months." This one is far the biggest confession to your faulty claims. You have been faultily comparing this PPC-750 with P-II on 0.35um, and yet this PPC-750 is not even out yet (do not remember what you posted?)!"If you want to continue this discussion feel free come over to AAPL board or email me privately. I'm sure our friends here don't find this discussion very relevant to INTC." Well, you are just begging me to accept your faulty claims. But I am a person of fairness and truth, for the truth is out there among many lies, and I demand nothing but the truth! Whew! With your guilty conscience behind us, let's talk about your Peace-Corps-volunteer-like work for Apple. Although I have to admit, just by looking at the architecture of the younger Mac in which Apple has so many years of learning the short comes of x86 systems, I do envy Mac's superiority. However, it is worthless to me if I cannot find "readily available" software to run on it. Since apparently you are not concerned about "readily available" software, you should really consider the superior, and of course younger, DEC's Alpha. How come Alpha is not your hobby but this inferior Mac is?"Both IBM and Motorola have been making these PowerPC chips using .25um process." I have read in a post with a link showing how IBM is the only one fabricating PPC on 0.25um. My Motorola sales rep also mentioned about Motorola is trying to phase out Power PCs. Motorola as a corporate account is buying Intel based systems now for its employees!"Both IBM and MOT have independently developed processes for producing chips with copper interconnects. Prototypes have already seen silicon." This shows an excellent R&D work by IBM with this new copper technology. Well, how much do you know about it? Can you list a pros-and-cons table versus traditional aluminum? Would this copper technology be suitable for super mass-production today?"most of your comment are based on speculation without much real knowledge in this field." Hey, I might just surprise you! Meanwhile, I have pointed out quite a few faulty claims you have regarding this PPC-750 and P-II. John.
