Ignacio, What is a serious matter? I asked a pertinent question. How do you define when an ecosystem is diverse enough to be considered healthy? The answer you gave said nothing. The lack of clarity in your answer should give you pause to reexamine what you mean by that term. I would be willing to bet that 10000 years ago. Some woods in North America were diverse, while others naturally were not. Nature isn't an exact copy of itself. Who are we to define healthy diversity? If we are capable of doing so, then what exactly does it mean? What is a diverse environment? I have not painted you into being Jane Fonda. Why you said that is very strange. I wasn't even talking to you when I asked the question. The redwoods will be around for many years. The spotted owls are not in danger of extinction. The gorilla's aren't in the U.S. Let the countries of Africa handle that. I would much rather concern myself with helping homeless teenagers find a decent meal, and a place to sleep than pour my tax money into "the save the gorilla cause". We are now going to spend another 7 billion dollars, if the President gets his way, to clean up the Ozone and prevent Global Warming. We are not even sure these problems exist, yet we are allocating billions toward it. Why not spend a few billion and target it towards homeless teenagers who desperately need our help. Today! Tonight!! These are problems that exist without a shadow of a doubt. They are not some abstract, scientific, what if Global Warming scenario. You probably disagree. Fine. I'm entitled to my opinion, you to yours. Michael
