When this (or some similar) technology propagates into the marketplace, the benefits to society will be awesome. 1. Greatly reduced emissions, both for localized pollutants and global greenhouse gases. 2. Lower fuel prices because of reduced demand. 3. Greatly reduced dependency on middle-eastern oil. 4. Larger reserves of oil, which is a good thing to have in case of a global crisis. 5. Increased demand for automobiles, which benefits the US auto industry.
