Too late :) I already spent more a month exploring the little waterways of Australian rainforest and the tablelands. That was an extension to spending 3 weeks in the great barrier reef. I actually considered not returning until I had made it to Perth. That would have been one heck of a walkabout. So I called my (at the time) girlfriend who was on a business trip in Sydney to give her power of attorney to close my apartment lease in NYC and take out all my stuff. She asked me to come back to New York so she can take a year off work and travel with me (LOL! she's not an outdoorsy person). I didn't want her to do that for me, esp. since she had been promoted to VP a little over a year before and was a rising star. It would have been too big of a hit on her.

I always have a blast when I am down under. The wildlife, the ranches, the people, all suite me well. Fun tidbit, on the flight back from Cairns, they guy next to me asked where I am going. I said that I am on a connecting flight to NYC but grew up in Toronto. He answered, Na mate, you caan't be Canaidien! I've met Canaidiens - they have much thicker accent than you do. I remember thinking that perhaps I've overdone my ozzie life assimilation <vbg>
