Remember the recent world junior hockey championship in Helsinki? As a proud Canadian, I hope we do not see a repeat, however, I am concerned about our over confidence. On the other hand, maybe the world (sports or otherwise) is prepared for a major paradigm shift. If so, maybe, just maybe, Kazakhstan will understand the importance of establishing themselves on the world stage, and stop trying to play the role of third world "banditos". Regards.

PS Prediction for Friday...Canada-6 Kazakhstan-1.

What, no mexicanos, no Aussies or Kiwis. I once knew a five-foot two-inch Kiwi rugby player named Kelly who was as broad as he was high, pure muscle, he could lift the front end of his 57 Volkswagen and swing it onto blocks. I bet he could play hockey.
Hope those Canucks and Kazakhs are being careful what they smoke sportingnews.com

There should be Olympic polo and other horsey sports. The peoples of the steppes have a long tradition of horsemanship, they certainly have the country for it;

John, I guess we all see Standard Bank financing deal as the next big steppe in company development. The Jan 27 release says;

"the Company has now received a letter of commitment from Standard Bank London Limited for the provision of project debt financing for the Mizek gold project."

That makes it sound so final, such a done deal, that word "commitment". They still have DD to do, right? And Steppe must finish permitting before the deal closes? Is there anything you can tell us about progress on those steps, and can you give us any idea of a timeframe? You do say in post 597 "a minimum of a couple of months". Will there be steps in the process that you can report on here?

Reason I ask is that if Standard Bank is in for sure, so am I ..... cheers ..... marcos
