Paul: Re: US Funds to support IMF & U.N.

The giants are all lined up in support, past Presidents, Secretaries and other notables.

The taxpayer will pay as always, and rescue big business and their poor business practices. Yes, they will pull all stops to ensure "funding" and containing of the Asian problem. The economic and monetary system is threatened, and hinges on a resolution to preserve confidence in the system.

Good time also to be lobbying for back-payment to the U.N., on the cusp of U.S. action against Iraq. The U.S. needs all the support it can buy.

The status quo seems omnipotent. Gold will have to wait.

Phil

PBM--No surprise all those fossils jumped on the bandwagon, they all get govt. pensions!! Just print some more paper.

This is amazing--""The majority of the U.S. population support the U.N. and international involvement generally," said
Peter Peterson, chairman of the investment banking firm, Blackstone Group, one of the campaign's
organizers.""

I'll wager the majority of the US population cannot tell you where the UN is based, much less what it does and who is the present head!!!!

First I would love to hear your take on this
Wonder why they don't take out an ad to send money to red cross or
something to send food supplies instead?
Wonder why they don't take out an ad to ask Suharto and cronies and
relatives to use their billions to help out?
Wonder why they don't take out an ad to ask all those in the finance
world who helped create the vast bubble by pouring billions in to
inflate the SE expansion and export inflation and make billions?
Why don't they take out an ad to save the social security system and
provide health care for the millions here who don't have it?
Why don't they take out an ad to prevent the war and save human life
in Iraq and save Americans who would also lose their life? Heard on tv that many many countries are developing deadly
warfare?
Best thought: Why don't they take out fifty page ad saying we want
a hard asset standard to prevent these kind of excesses that are
produced by easy money and create bubbles that demolish the lives
of millions of hard working people and before its over probably wipe
out a lot of retirement funds here
gold anyone?

I truly respect Mark Mobius.. re: outlook on SE Asia
biz.yahoo.com
the engine
I don't think this would be necessarily bearish for gold since
after this past meltdown..more and more SE Asians as they recover
might put more and more money into gold since they know what it is
like to be toast..also would be quite bullish down the road for
commodities..also would remove threat of worldwide depression..
just another global rotation...also would probably strengthen a lot
of US companies that are buying in at fire sales..also reduces risk
of protectionism on SE side..
