There was mention of gas mileage at the end of the tease. Maybe BAT in the show. We will see.

I was at the California Speedway watching the economy trials
today. I observed that the Geo Metro was optimized for the
test with oversized tires. I asked the engineer, Ron Holland,
about the oversized tires, and he explained that this was to
optimize gearing for the best economy. Also, the tires were
inflated to 50 psi, as I expected. Not unusual. Mr Holland told
that the engine was a modified Yanmar 3TNE84 three cylinder
diesel. He said that he was only using 3/4 of the diesel rack,
and the car would still go 80 to 90 mph. With the full rack, he
said that the car would do 100 mph. Mr. Holland said that oval
track testing reduced the mileage somewhat due to the corners.
He said that the cams recently obtained from WebCam did not
meet the profile that he specified, and that a new cam would
have to be installed prior to the emissions testing requested by
Ford. This testing will apparently take place at UC Riverside.
He said that the pulse charge technology was related to the
pulse jet engine. Some of these engines have no moving parts
whatever, relying on tuned lengths and pressure pulses moving
back and forth through the chamber. He said that the engine
did use some valve overlap, and that the pulse technology pushed
extra air into the engine, keeping the pistons cool. He said that
the next stage was to get a supplier of engines. He said that
there is an verbal agreement, which will be signed soon. He
said that there would be royalties, and money up front. He said
that this unidentified company had approached BAT. And,
he said that another deal would come through in about two
weeks. Furthermore, he said that an agreement was signed
Saturday, in New York. He said that the Daug factory in Germany
was going out of business in two months, but that Mercedes
Benz was going to honor the contract with BAT.Mr. Holland
said that Ford was going to supply BAT with two V8 engines
for their modifications. I found Mr. Holland more forthcoming than
Mr. LaStella, who told me that technology and business details
would not be disclosed until the proper time. There were at least two people from the media there: a photographer from the Los Angeles Daily News, and a reporter from the San Bernardino Daily Sun. As I was ready to leave, Kurt, the track director, averaged the three
runs, coming up with 93.77 mpg for the three runs.
