u.s. immigration policy is a mess.
the answer to 'why' might be similar to that of your (or my) family's border crossing.
my guess is that it's thought to be the best option...
which is not to say it's a great option.

Biden is providing them with a free lunch.

That is not envy. That is a Darwinian process at work.

Too much of it harms the USA imho.

Fortunately the UK has it's own "wall" already in place. It's called the English Channel and it's attenuates the illegal immigration problem no end.

If push comes to shove, we could always flood the "Chunnel" too.
