Hi John,

Very little beats a fresh picked tomato!

I make about 70 - 75 quarts a year. Have a list of neighbors , partners and friends I give it to as gifts.

Love making salsa with everything from my garden. I do buy a 50 pound bag of sweet onions and use them all by November.

We harvested 225 garlic bulbs in the middle of July. Plant it after the first snow, before the ground freezes.

I use a jalapeno from Harris seed. It is called Weatherman Jalapeno. Very nice flavor, usual heat. NOT OVERWHELMING. They can become huge plants - tree like. My buddy in Nebraska has track steers and cleans out chicken farm buildings. He tills that in before seeding and planting. Huge peppers in tree like size (4 feet tell and 50to 75 peppers on each plant. Amazing jalapeno's. Spark up the soil where you plant your peppers next year.

I have used Black cow for 6-8 years with peat moss and each year my production goes up.

This year I bought a yard of compost from a neighbor who makes it for a near by city.

It is better than Black cow - I'll use the compost in the future.

We have one Zucchini plant that has grown up off the ground, not on the ground. It produces a Zucchini every day or every other day. We've put up Zucchini bread and today chocolate chip zucchini cookies.

Our cu8cmbers are producing 10 to 12 cucumbers a day - sick of making pickles and are now giving away the cucumbers. We've done 50 pints of bread and butter pickles. Now making sweet corn and creamy styled sweet corn today.

Bought new vacuum packer nd my wife is playing with it every day. Lots of new recipes.

Life is good on the 44th parallel.

Bob
