Things have changed since you left. Phoenix now has an analyst, substantial trading volume, and low spreads. Pico and VChips recovered in Q1 from a lousy Q4. Jack Kay thinks VChips is now poised to grow, but a single quarter doesn't constitute a trend. Royalties from the Compaq win will arrive this quarter, but IBM royalties will arrive later in the year. Some of the new products are released (ROMPilot and ACPIArchitect), but the network management product is still under development. They need to announce customers for these products. USB continues to disappoint and SystemSoft sold 85% of their business to stave off bankruptcy. It will take off after the release of Windows 98. The company should grow revenues and profits 10-30% this year. It represents a good value, but not a screaming buy. I established a small position in Dec. and doubled it yesterday. Award is absurdly underpriced and they announced a buyback program, so that's where I have most of my BIOS money invested. You can also find value in RadiSys and Adobe. A fair number of stocks haven't participated in the recovery. Your pictures look good. I also live on a 5 acre ranch, but the snow melted. My wife runs an art gallery and we're considering the purchase of a digital camera. We'd like to set up a web site showing pictures of our artists' works. This is starting to catch on and other galleries have been making sales over the web. The pricing structure for web hosting services is silly. Disk space is nearly free, but they charge you for it and we need 30-100 MB. They should be charging for bandwidth, which we could handle comfortably, since the number of hits would be limited. There are a lot more companies on the web than were 3 years ago, but progress on the net still continues at a snail's pace.
