For more facts on Daimler Benz and Ballard, I know that it is a German
company that makes the zinc air battery for Baat. They have had difficulties
with the charging system and have sought the expertise of the Livermore
Labs in California... I hope this assists you in your research... Go Baat...

I own two 4x4's myself. They get between 15-30 MPG.

15-30 mpg?!? You lucky dog. I got 5.3 mpg last year in my Sub (5.7l engine) pulling a travel trailer down about 700 miles of I-70. Even with the 42-gal tank, I was stopping for fuel ever 2 1/2 hours. :( 14-15 mpg in normal driving.

I do watch this company closely, as I've long been fascinated with alternative energy and efficient usage of gasoline. Have many ideas sketched out for my Sub, but will be ordering the 7.4l (with an aftermarket blower -- still amazed I talked the wife into that) variety this summer and implementing some of these ideas. Primary ideas are electric motor assist via the driveshaft, and a hitch-mounted motorcycle engine. I used a Yamaha 650 some years back to test this on a small car, and was quite amazed. Fuel mileage was actually better on the highway than the bike itself could've gotten (cars are typically much more aerodynamically efficient than standard motorcycles).

It is my hope to be able to get extreme economy out of a big Suburban 4x4 without sacrificing the real-world qualities for which I require one. Mine's a car, truck, tow vehicle, off-road toy, and even a tractor -- able to pull loads and go places my 2N just can't.

Because of this fascination with usefulness/economy, I love to watch this company and will continue to do so. I'm especially curious for them to take the wraps off of this powerplant so I can see if it's in a compact enough package to fit under or in the very back of a Suburban.
