Trigger warning acknowledged. I don't know anything about you or your family - my point was one of experience and timelines that could be inferred by age differences. You might want to read up on MAD and how truly "mad" it was. Detente was a daily suicide decision and there were at least three times where I know of - that it could have been moot to discuss nuclear policy because we'd be mostly dead or knocked back to medieval times as a tiny fraction of the world population, probably in the low tens of millions. Ecologic recovery would be well on its way though. en.wikipedia.org
