I first saw it on CNBC today, but I don't know if it has been reported outside the tech-focused press yet, been too busy today to watch any other news.

With algorithms controlling over 90% of the market trading volume read the online reports too, and can act on them in an instant, it only takes spillover into mainstream media online to send stocks plummeting or soaring.

AAPL fell inline today with other tech stocks I watch and did slightly better than the Nasdaq, so I don't think the story had any affect.

That news would have to get wider attention in the mainstream and be seen as a genuine threat to Apple's revenue model for it to affect AAPL significantly. That is probably a ways off yet.
