I agree that it is not participating much. Neither are the disk drive makers. It is somewhat frustrating, I know.

The thing to realize is that when (and I don't mean 'IF' I mean 'When') COMS works through the problems, the stock will move violently upward. I cannot predict when that will occur, but what is clear is that internet growth will be one of the most, if not the single most important growth area over the next ten years and only a few companies are positioned to take advantage of that. The market is punishing COMS because in the short term money is perhaps better invested in other sectors that are performing better.

The time to buy these stocks is when confidence levels are down and pessimism is at its highest. That would be now. What happens if all of the asian markets rebound by year end? Do you think that COMS will still be sitting in the doldrums? No, by that time the stock will be 50-100% higher and you would have missed the boat.

Patience is a virtue.

The modem standard doesn't excite me. Why has A$ND rallied in the face of the modem standard but COMS has not? - craig crawford

asnd appears to be losing ras/rac market share to coms and csco, and asnd ceo has already predicted ras/rac flat sales for the year. the modem standard does little for asnd, you would need to look at the products arising from the cscc purchase.

coms will need to demonstrate that the modem standard increases sales, which i believe it will, but time will tell.
