I remember those times well. Never paid any rent for 6 years living in central London as a student.



No student fees. Lived off a council grant, even drove a car. Got at least one parking ticket every day and didn't pay any of them as this was all before computers. I did get challenged for one parking ticket before the 6 month time limit, and like a good citizen... I paid it.

It was the way things should be. -g-

The government made a good investment in me. Got a productive worker. Troublesome but productive.

Gen X seemingly drinks 50% less alcohol than the Millennials. That can't be a bad thing given the addictive nature of alcohol.

However if cold does turn out to be a big unaffordable problem, the best things for humans to do is to congregate into large groups (i.e go down the pub).

Each human runs at about 100 watts.
