Jas,

Some points for you to think about.

Altair has had the technology for the CJ for 3+ years
(the technology acquired for around 2% of the present
ALTIF's market cap, I might add).
ALTIF had delivered at Series 12 CJ to DuPont more
than a year back. The fact that DuPont has not followed
it up with orders might indicate that it has not
found it commercially viable. It now wants to check
out the Series 30 version to see if it is more useful.
The existence of the technology for 4+ years
combined with relatively low expenditures on
research leads me to believe that this technology
is not all that wonderful.

The TN titanium deposits have not been found
to be financially viable to exploit by others.
ALTIF's CJ is the key here. If DuPont has not
found it interesting enough, will it turn the
TN deposits into a "gold" mine? If the CJ is
not commercially viable to use, the value of
the TN property is zilch.

I have some questions for you.
How much money do you think ALTIF will earn/lose in 1999?
Do you know how a convertible offering works?
Do you know what sort of companies resort to these
type of deals (surely they could borrow the money
if they are really being bought out at $50 as one
of the "analysts" has predicted).
Did you realize a convertible offering combined with
insider (including the CEO) sales + rise in short
interest can indicate only one direction in the short term.

Regards
Rajiv
