You are only kidding yourself! I know too many people who smoked for 20 years and then quit and died of lung cancer after 35 years of non-smoking.


Nope PM Not fooling myself at all.. I do not think I am in the clear.. just reduced my odds is all.. I do not see in my posts where I consider myself clear... but am I happy I quit .. damn straight !!

I recall when they would say after ten years you are clear.. then 15 .. then

reality is I increased my odds of lung cancer... I may get lucky .. maybe not.. but so far quality of life is GREATLY improved.. TIme without smoking is 46 vs 20 years smoking

OTOH I have two family members who died of lung cancer and never smoked at all... one a brick layer... and one I am sure from her mother's second hand smoke.. the mother lived well into her eighties..
