notice that Qwest Com down today and Orckit up? is there some rational reason to beleive that all that bandwidth is, after all, not that necessary relative to Orckit's ADSL?

Gilner's technology letter so stated this possibility

[reverse-engineering]

Hi srvhap

many thanks... great, great stuff.. don't know which i like better:

2-3 Mbps g.lite (current) product,
downloadable final standard by remote management system,
orctf as contributer to uawg *technical* subgroup,
schedule for silicon probably ok, or the implications of...
"it is possible that Orckit will make public more on it's G.lite plans soon"

rumor on the pair thread is that pair management "is sweating bullets" over "a competing Japanese product that will be introduced in the next few months" <g>

and along the lines of what they (and a few others) might have trouble doing about it...

turns out that using a dsp core as part of an asic... not only "offers opportunities for much higher integration than is possible with the use of off-the-shelf, packaged DSP processors" and allows " higher integration (that) in turn can yield smaller products that consume lower power (and) are less costly to produce..." but... such solutions

" are more resistant to reverse-engineering...." <G>...
