Russia then made clear that unless sanctions on it are dropped, no gas will *ever* flow through Nord Stream 1 again
If I were Germany, I'd blow up a section of the Nord Stream 1 pipeline just to make the cutoff of RuZZian gas permanent.

Then I'd take every measure necessary to ensure Europeans can get through the winter with enough resources to keep their homes heated.

If that means chopping down wood, so be it. Korea did it before they could import significant amounts of fossil fuels. The trees grew back, and the difference between then and now is like night and day.
