HedyVP: Check at a large library for one of those thick books on commodity trading systems. Check the index for Welles Wilder. It's work that he did prior to his "delta phenomenon" stuff, which has nothing to do with parabolic curves. Stan Weinstein's "Profiting in Bull & Bear Markets" has some lucid comments on the stages stock prices move through with many examples. There you'll find the "move before the big move" concept, with the "big move" being the "parabolic" stage.
