I love bow hunting.

I've always been able to get close to deer. I let many go before I shoot one. Almost always within 20 yards.

I now hunt with a crossbow. Love my mathews compound, but my rotator cups are shot and it hurts too much to practice such that I can easily pull back my 70 pound compound bow. It is a shame as it is a beautiful weapon with 400 feet per second speed. Wonderfully accurate even for me. Another symbol of my youth hanging over the fireplace mantel. <smile>

Sigh at 70 I can no longer do what I did when I was 50+.

My 10 point crossbow is an equally wonderful weapon and more lethal with a scope.

I only hunt mornings as I'm badly color blind and can not track a blood trail. So it has to be a close shot or I just enjoy letting them go by me almost at touching distance.

Deer hunting is my favorite hunt. My little 40 acres has so many deer crossing the river, that the county should put in a traffic light. <smile>

My real favorite hunt is duck hunting. My color blindness does not hurt that.

My lifelong best friend has a duck hunt in Nebraska. Mallards Mallards every where!

When the January weather it at its worst, duck hunting is at its best!
