Hi Chip,

Always good to discuss the world with you, you are one of my highest class, long term contacts and we've dared to differ at times. LOL That being said most usually on the same page.

Thanks Me TOO! Good enough to enjoy long term, and not create a taxable transaction past dividends - I hope!

Yup, 400 tomatoes is just another rainy day (thunder storms predicted tomorrow . I try to do double batches 3 times (15 to 18 quarts each). I've done two singles and am in shape to double production. It just takes a 6 pack of beer and a football game. LOL

Making salsa is a conditioning acquired cooking skill. <smile>

Our fall has been really excellent. Just the right amount of rain and the 75 to 80 degrees with cool 60's at night. Exactly what every productive tomato plants dreams of. Perfect weather conditions.

Normally we plant seeds in Texas and drive them to Wisconsin where it is cold at night AND SHOCKS THEM.

This year we simplified and bought them from a local greenhouse - helped accelerate maturity by a week or two.

I have to build my own greenhouse and let it also be source for solar heat. We have a wonderful southern exposure, it will make a perfect big "cold frame".

Also you'd appreciate we bought a yard of natural compost and added it to our seven raised beds, along with some peat moss - an annual deal.

Best production yet!

Life is good in the country.

Warmest Regards.

Bob and Jan Furman
