I agree with you about lower Q3 earnings being a negotiation tacit but I feel they are just playing games.

I prefer all buyout negotiations to be 100% closed door with a one-off announcement saying Yes/No if the deal was done.

I would look more into the buyer ( Forebright Capital Management) and try to figure out their plans for the company. Maybe they plan to flip it to VC's/PE's if/when the industry is in favour again.

But like you said, if the company does not need to sell, why are they? I'd rather a capital infusion or other low rate funding.
