He and his wife tried traveling around the country but as I wrote they had a lot of difficulty getting into popular parks (without reservations) or city centers. Part of the problem is that they pull their trailer with a 4x4 diesel pickup that is long as a bus and needed a fold-down set of steps just to get into. It's not easy to stop, unhook and drive that monster into an urban area or the tourist friendly traffic-jams of the national park system. He also had to have an additional fuel tank mounted in the bed. They join up with Airstream caravans to make epic 6 week journeys across Canada or some other route. The problem here is that there are only a few per year and you have no choice where and when it takes off.
