A name like that ... sounds like the LA based Capital Research group. I do not know much about them currently, but they have been among the savviest investors over the past twenty years. John Lovelace used to head them up. Very thoughtful group. If it is the crowd I am thinking of, they have a world wide presence and they used to have some very sharp people ... any more details as to their identity?

From today's lunchtime news:

<<Influential Merrill Lynch semiconductor industry analyst Tom Kurlak helped bring down a number of chip-related companies this morning, including Motorola (NYSE: MOT), which was cut $3 9/16 to $61 3/8. Kurlak warned that an earnings recovery in the segment is not going to materialize and that overcapacity will continue to weigh down top-line results in 1998.>>

Ian, what site are you using to get your SEC-documents (13D filings) information? Mine (http://www.sec.gov/edaux/formlynx.htm) doesn't seem to be nearly as up-to-date as the one you're using. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ian,

The Capital Group runs the American Funds. They are broker-sold, full-
load funds. When I first began to invest I had shares in Euro Pacific
Growth. Some other names in their group are Washington Mutual, Investment
Company of America, etc. There are more; you can find them in the
financial section of any newspaper under American Funds.
